Julie Burson, DVM
Dr. Julie Burson is a native of Ville Platte, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University Eunice and LSU in Baton Rouge for her undergraduate studies. After graduating from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, Dr. Burson completed a post-graduate internship at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She then moved to Haughton and joined the staff at Haughton Animal Hospital.
Dr. Burson treats companion animals with special interests in ultrasound, dermatology, and internal medicine. She has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association since 1991, and she is a member of the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, the North West Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Heartworm Society.
She and her husband, Zac, have two daughters, Hannah who graduated from LSU-BR and Camille, a student at Haughton High School. Their pet family includes a cat named Grayson and a dog named Alfie. Dr. Burson enjoys spending time with friends at the LSU football games.
