Makensie Moore, DVM
Dr. Makensie Moore is a 2012 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she moved to Texas where she completed an internship at a well known equine exclusive referral practice, Elgin Veterinary Hospital. She is happy to be back in her hometown of Haughton and working with her father, Dr. Eddie Moore.
Dr. Moore loves being able to practice veterinary medicine at a mixed animal clinic. She works with small animals like dogs and cats as well as large animals such as horses and small ruminants. She is interested in all aspects of equine practice particularly emergency, dentistry, internal medicine, reproduction, and lameness. She also enjoys working on local farm and show animals.
Dr. Moore and her husband, BJ Sonnier, have three young children, a daughter and two sons. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her kids in their activities in the local community. She also likes to ride her horses when she can.
