background

We are available for emergencies 24/7.

Sometimes a client is not sure if a condition is an emergency or not. Many times we can determine over the phone if a sick or injured horse needs to be seen by one of our veterinarians immediately or not.

It is very helpful to have some basic information ready on the initial call such as:

  • 1. Has the horse eaten all or part of the normal feeding?
  • 2. In the case of lameness, is there swelling noted on the leg?
  • 3. The horses rectal temperature taken with any medical thermometer
  • 4. Any drugs and doses that may have been administered
