Dental Care

Routine dental care is very important for your horse’s overall health. Our veterinarians at Haughton Animal Hospital recommend your horse have a dental exam each year. In most cases, dental floats can be performed yearly to eliminate sharp enamel points. Sometimes more severe dental malocclusions, geriatric horses, and younger horses require dental floats more frequently. Along with routine dental care, we offer advanced dental procedures for a variety of dental diseases, malocclusions, and wolf teeth/cap removals. Our goal in performing routine equine dental care is to improve your horse’s overall health with a safe, minimal stress experience.
